Findings

1. Severe Chassis Rust: Upon inspecting the underbody, we found significant corrosion on the chassis rails. Multiple holes had already formed due to advanced rust penetration. This level of deterioration compromises structural integrity and poses a serious safety concern.

Contributing Factors:

• Constant exposure to saltwater and salty sand
• Lack of thorough underbody washes after beach use
• Possibly no rust protection applied (e.g., electronic rust control or coatings)

Recommendation:

• Immediate rust treatment and reinforcement of affected chassis areas
• Application of a rust preventative coating post-repair
• Routine underbody inspections, especially after beach trips

2. Air Filter Contamination

The air cleaner was packed with sand, clearly showing that the vehicle has been operating in sandy, dusty environments without adequate filtration protection.

Implications:

• Reduced engine performance and efficiency
• Increased wear on internal engine components
• Potential long-term engine damage if unaddressed

Recommendation:

• Replace the air filter immediately
• Install a pre-filter or snorkel system for future off-road driving
• More frequent air filter inspections and replacements depending on driving conditions
